This rifle started out as a factory Remington 700 in 338 Win-Mag. The accuracy was not good so we installed a new after market trigger and a bell and Carlson aluminum bedding block stock and properly bedded the barreled action into the stock. This improved things but was not to what the customer wanted so we installed a match grade stainless steel #4 contour barrel chambered in 338 Win-Mag.
With all of our rebarreling of factory rifles we blueprint the action, bolt and barrel to make sure everything is trued, squared and concentrick. We also incorporate in a precision ground recoil lug and fit the lug to the action so that it will not rotate.
This rifle also had extraction problems so we fixed it by installing a M-16 extractor which is a very positive extractor. We also threaded the muzzle and installed a brake so a 250 grain bullet is a pleasure to shoot.
